In 2012 the New Freedom Lions Club was contacted by Gail Buck as she had a degenerative eye condition and she was going blind.
She requested that the Lions Club sponsor her for a leader dog (commonly known as a seeing eye dog). The club immediately applied to the Leader Dog for the Blind organization that is run by the Lions Club of Michigan.

After the application was approved Gail flew to Michigan for two weeks of training and returned with Dutch pictured here, a beautiful golden retriever.

All of Gail's expenses were paid for by the NFLC.

Shortly after receiving her Leader Dog, Gail and her husband joined our Lions club. In honor of the wonderful gift they received, they built "Dutch's Dime Toss" which still operates today at every carnival run by the NFLC in July.

100% of all proceeds raised by the "Dime Pitch" game go directly to the "Leader Dogs for the Blind" program.
